DR. PAUL A. MCGILL

D.D.S., P.A.

Dr. Paul A. McGill is a native Charlotteen having been born here and lived here most of his life, only leaving to attend dental and orthodontic school.  Dr. McGill is a proud graduate of West Mecklenburg High School. From West Mecklenburg, Dr. McGill went to UNC-Charlotte where he received his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree, and from there decided to continue his education at Howard University.  Dr. McGill attended Howard University's College of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) in 1977.  In May of 1979, Dr. McGill received his Certification in Orthodontics from Howard University's College of Dentistry.  The summer after graduating from orthodontic school Dr. McGill remained at Howard University as a clinical instructor for the College of Dentistry in the Orthodontic Department.  He remained a clinical instructor until September of 1979 when he was promoted to an assistant professor in the College of Dentistry, and remained an assistant professor until 1984.

During the next few years Dr. McGill stayed very busy.  In 1977 Dr. McGill received his licenses to practice in both Maryland and Washington, D.C., then in 1978 he received his license to practice in North Carolina.  In 1977, Dr. McGill opened his own private dental practice in Takoma Park, Maryland and that practice remained open until 1985.  He also had a practice with Enterprise Dental Specialist in Lanham, Maryland along with teaching at DC General Hospital. 

He then moved back to Charlotte in 1982 which is when he started his own private practices in Charlotte and in Lexington, North Carolina.  In 1982, Dr. McGill also became an Orthodontic Consultant to both Mecklenburg County's Health Department and C.W. Williams's Health Clinic.  Yes all of the dates are correct, at one time Dr. McGill was practicing dentistry in Maryland, teaching classes at Howard University, practicing orthodontics in Charlotte and Lexington, and also a consultant to both the Health Department and C.W. Williams Health Clinic.  However, right now he has slowed down to only practicing orthodontics in Charlotte and Lexington, NC.
